June is Pride Month, a time to commemorate the LGBT community’s achievements and contributions to American life. Originally just one day, then a week, by the 21st century it had become a month-long celebration, and one that has continued to grow in prominence. Connecticut has several bars and clubs where gay and straight alike can celebrate Pride Month. June is the perfect month to check out any of these gay and LGBT-friendly establishments.
Chez Est
458 Wethersfield Ave.
Hartford, CT 06114

The euphoric vibe at this Hartford club makes it a perfect place for a celebration. From drag shows and comedy acts to weekly karaoke and trivia contests, there’s always something fun happening. Its monthly Beer Bash features raffles, entertainment, food specials and $1 drafts. And any night is good for ordering an Absolut cocktail representing six colors of the rainbow from red (Absolut Raspberry) to purple (Absolut Kurant) and relaxing on Chez Est’s large outdoor patio.

Trevi Lounge
548 Kings Highway Cutoff
Fairfield, CT 06824
(203) 255-0285

In just a short time Trevi Lounge has become one of the most popular gay bars in Fairfield County. Perhaps it’s the vodka cocktails, which come in a dozen flavors including cookie dough and root beer. Or it could be its daily drink specials, like $3 margaritas on Sunday or $4 glasses of wine on Wednesday. But it is likely the festive atmosphere, which includes new and classic music videos, Thursday Game Night with classics like Twister and Scrabble, and DJs and dancing every weekend.

Tommy’s Restaurant And Pub
825 Saybrook Road
Middletown, CT 06457
(860) 346-8686

Tommy’s Gay Nite has become a tradition at this Middletown pizza spot. Every Wednesday you can join a growing circle of gay pals for an evening of camaraderie over food and drinks. In addition to pizza Tommy’s offers calzones, burgers and fresh pasta dishes, with an outdoor deck to enjoy them on. Don’t be shy about stopping by either by yourself or with some friends, and be prepared to make some new ones.
