Every summer, West Hartford holds its annual celebration along with an extensive art fair. Ideally located on the Town Hall Common, the fair boasts more than 175 artists showcasing fabulous displays of their works. Both buyers and browsers can view everything from pottery and sculpture, to jewelry and clothing. Many of the artists are local to New England, making it that much easier to hunt them down should you need to purchase future works.

You can’t live in New England and not include a Holly Harvest Craft Fair in your list of best art fairs in Hartford. Held the last Saturday of October, this holiday craft fair has been going on for the past 40 years. All proceeds from the fair are distributed among various food pantries, charities and church needs. In other words, patrons give double when purchasing holiday gifts for family and loved ones. Pick out something for the tree, such as a hand-made wooden ornament, or a comfy quilt to snuggle under fireside. There is even a room called “the attic” that houses various gifts from toys to glassware and linens, all gently used.
