(East Lyme, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Two people were killed in an early morning crash on Interstate 95 in East Lyme.

State Police say around 4:30, a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Katerina Barrett made contract with a tractor trailer after passing that vehicle in the northbound lanes near exit 72.

After striking a Jersey barrier, troopers say Barrett’s car was hit by a third vehicle driven by 72-year-old Kenneth Graves.

Barrett was ejected from her vehicle and was later pronounced dead at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

A passenger in the vehicle that hit Barrett’s, 69-year-old Marie Graves, also died.

The tractor trailer driver was not injured.
