(CBS Connecticut) — Police say a Bristol man used a sledge hammer to attack a visitor to his Tulip Street home last night.
Police say David Buchelli had attacked two relatives, when a 47-year-old visitor to the house tried to intervene.
Buchelli allegedly used a sledge hammer and a patio plock to attack the man, causing severe face wounds.
He also caused $3,000 in damage to a vehicle at his home.
The Bristol resident was charged with assault, criminal mischief, and breach of peace.
After he was taken into custody, police say he refused to be fingerprinted.
The 47-year-old is due in court today.
