A 40 year old hiker from East Hartford was located Sunday morning  about  10 hours after he called Litchfield County Emergency Services to report he was  beginning to feel ill  while  hiking the Mohawk Trail in Cornwall and was going to be in his tent.

James Schneider  was found at about 5:30  a.m. and was taken by ambulance to Sharon Hospital for treatment of hypothermia.

After making the call Schneider’s  cell phone  signal was lost and he did not have GPS  capability.Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon  Police  and K-9 units , assisted by Connecticut State Police began a search of the area.It was suspended at midnight and resumed Sunday morning.
