WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut man who was rescued from
Long Island Sound during a triathlon last weekend has died.

Sixty-two-year-old Robert Hartline of Wallingford was competing
in the swimming part of the Sherwood Island Sprint Triathlon in
Westport on Sunday when he began struggling in the water and was
rescued by lifeguards. An obituary posted on the Yalesville Funeral
Home website says Hartline died Monday at Norwalk Hospital.

The cause of death isn’t clear.

Calling hours are set for Thursday evening at Yalesville Funeral
Home in Wallingford. A funeral service will be held Friday morning
at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wallingford, followed by burial in
Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden.

The obituary says Hartline was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War
and worked at Allegheny Steel for 30 years.
