The Connecticut Sportsplex in North Branford is the largest sports and recreation center in New England, with both indoor and outdoor facilities. The latter includes five MLB-size baseball fields with lights. Those interested in using them may pay by the hour or per game (with different rates for day and evening games), with Sportsplex League members receiving a discount. Additionally, the site has a large indoor baseball center and training facility complete with six batting cages, four hitting tunnels, several bullpens and infields set in synthetic turf. Private instruction may be arranged as well.

Spread out over 136 acres in Guilford, Bittner Park is open year-round. When the warm weather months arrive, many patrons head for the baseball field, which is lit in the evening, or to one of its three Little League fields. The large park also contains a playground, skate park and trails for hiking and bicycle riding. If you’re waiting for one of the fields to open, you may also want to head to the pickleball courts and try your hand at the sport which merges badminton, tennis and ping pong.

This inviting, family-friendly park has plenty to offer to baseball enthusiasts. It has four baseball fields, half of which have lights, along with a pair of lit softball fields. These are all open to town leagues, who must reserve them. To make a perfect spring or summer day, have a picnic after the game at one of its three attractive groves, or make a reservation to hold a BBQ at the pavilion.

Rogers Park’s 56 acres are very accommodating to baseball lovers. There is a total of six baseball and four softball fields in the park with lights and natural turf. Permits to use the fields may be obtained from Danbury’s Parks And Recreation Department. Rogers Park has a concession stand, so players can snack before or after the game. Other features include a playground and a pond surrounded by a nature trail.

Play a baseball game against the backdrop of the Connecticut shoreline at New Haven’s East Shore Park. You will find several diamonds scattered over the park’s 82 acres, along with tennis courts and soccer fields. Plenty of benches and picnic tables can be found for players and spectators alike, and concessions are sold in the summer. East Shore Park is also an ideal setting for observing birds and other wildlife.
