The classic story of good versus evil put to an end by the power and dedication of love, as interpreted by the Connecticut Ballet is an elegant performance that the whole family will enjoy. Pirouettes and plies gracefully tell this 19th century tale that will have youngsters and their parents spellbound. Choreographer Brett Raphael has crafted the show into three acts featuring accompanying music by the classic composer Tchaikovsky. The show will span two weeks and will travel throughout Connecticut, stopping at the Kate in Old Saybrook, Stamford’s Palace Theatre, Belding Theatre in Hartford and finally the Ridefield Playhouse.

Salsa is a style of dance that lends itself toward infectious beats and sultry, hip-swiveling moves, and choreographer Roclan Gonzalez Chavez’s presentation of the Latin Kings does not disappoint. Classic Cuban salsa is updated with a street-style air, as hip hop moves are fused with traditional mambo, rumba and cha chacha steps. The performance is backed by the musical stylings of Cuba Ashire, a 9-piece band trumpeting Latin beats and a commanding horn section. For a spicy sound that will make you want to move your feet, the Kings of Salsa is the show to see.
