Elizabeth Park

Elizabeth Park is one of the best places to take your dog in Hartford. With more than 102 acres of open space that boasts gardens, trails, paths, greenhouses, a pond, recreation areas and a picnic grove, Elizabeth Park has a lot to offer you and your dog. Try the tree trail, which is an easy, flat walk that goes on for about a mile.

Wethersfield Dog Park

The Wethersfield Dog Park is one of the best places to take your dog in Hartford if you’re looking for playmates for your pal. This enclosed dog park is a great place for your dog to run off leash and play with other dogs. In the summer, the park also hosts a dog swim at the beach area by the lake. Last year more than 300 dogs participated.

The Farmington River Trail is one of the best places to take your dog in Hartford. The trail is an 18-mile loop, which links to the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. The trail follows the banks of the Farmington River for much of the 18 miles, offering great views and interesting landscape for your dog. The area is known as having some of the area’s “loveliest” landscapes.
