The Pond House Café Blooms in Elizabeth Park Year Round

The Pond House Café is housed in a building that used to be home to the snack bar in the heart of Hartford’s venerable Elizabeth Park. While a small snack bar still exists at a window on the exterior of the building, I am still nostalgic for boxes of cracker jacks and salty popcorn as I enter the café. However, what awaits you now within the Pond House far excels the old snack selections sold!

Urban Oaks Organic Farm – It’s Harvest Time

I lived in New Britain over ten years ago in a small condominium in an urban neighborhood. Three blocks away was a series of dilapidated green houses on a sad, weed-strewn field. Today, Urban Oaks Organic Farm has reclaimed the land, growing a myriad of produce to be sold to the public and a number of local restaurants.
