Patriots 2013 Season Ends Badly, But The Journey Was Quite Good

It’s debatable whether the 2013 New England Patriots season was a success or a failure, but it certainly wasn’t boring.

Patriots Narrowly Avoid Trap In Comeback Win Against Texans

Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans turned out to be the “trap” game New England fans were afraid of, but in the end the Patriots earned their second comeback victory in a row.

Jets Have Inconsistent Offense, Impressive Defense

For their first rematch of the 2013 NFL season, the New England Patriots will go on the road Sunday to face the New York Jets. Their first matchup was a tremendous defensive struggle, so this game will provide a measuring stick for the progress of New England’s fledgling offense.

Patriots Play Best Game Of Season In Comeback Against Saints

Even if the New England Patriots had lost this game to the New Orleans Saints, they had still demonstrated they could go toe-to-toe with an elite NFL team. Thanks to Tom Brady and Kenbrell Thompkins, New England didn’t have to settle for a mere moral victory.

Patriots Facing Real Test Against Falcons On National Television

The 3-0 New England Patriots won’t play the 3-0 Miami Dolphins for another month, but after the AFC East rival Dolphins beat the Atlanta Falcons last week 27-23, New England’s Week Four contest at Atlanta should give the Pats some idea of where they stand compared to the Fins.

Patriots Show Improvement In Win Over Buccaneers

The New England Patriots still aren’t playing like an elite NFL team, but getting a 20-point win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday is a step in the right direction. If the team continues to improve, then next week’s game in Atlanta against a tough Falcons team should be very competitive.

Buccaneers’ Struggling Offense No Threat To Patriots

In the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots are facing their third weak opponent in a row to open the 2013 season. They won’t be facing a rookie quarterback this time around, but Tampa Bay QB Josh Freeman is not exactly playing like a veteran.

Winning Ugly: Pats Look Soggy In Rain-Soaked Win Over Jets

Last season, the New England Patriots led the NFL in scoring with 34.8 points per game. But after an unimpressive 13-10 victory over the New York Jets in Foxboro Thursday night, the Patriots have scored a total of 36 points two weeks into the 2013 season. Quite frankly, they are lucky to have a 2-0 record.

New York’s Rookie QB Threat: Geno Smith

When incumbent New York Jets starting quarterback Mark Sanchez fell to a preseason injury, many naysayers were convinced that second round draft pick Geno Smith wasn’t ready to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. Much to their surprise, he goes into Week Two’s game against the New England Patriots with a 1-0 record.
