Team Grades: Redskins Lose Cool Then Game To Giants 24-13

The New York Giants (4-9) hoped to get a mini-win streak started after last week’s demolition of the Tennessee Titans in Nashville last week. This week, the dysfunctional Washington Redskins (3-10) came to town, fresh off a shutout loss to the St. Louis Rams and a full blown quarterback contriversy to boot.

Team Grades: Giants Snap Seven Game Losing Streak With Complete Effort

The New York Giants (4-9) were finally able to shake the dry spell that saw the team drop its last seven contests. After last week’s disappointment against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Big Blue kept the pedal to the metal in the 36-7 win over the hapless Tennessee Titans (2-12).

Giants’ Reese Needs To Get Working On Pierre-Paul Contract

The New York Giants have a philosophy of not negotiating contracts during the season. Why this unwritten rule remains in place is anyone’s guess. But after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers extended defensive lineman Gerald McCoy this week, the Giants ought to get to work on a Jason Pierre-Paul extension, before it’s too late.

Studs And Duds: Who Is To Blame For The Giants’ 3-4 Record?

The New York Football Giants (3-4) entered their bye week coming off of two straight losses to division opponents and being outscored 58-21 in the process. Because of the hot starts by both the Dallas Cowboys (6-1) and Philadelphia Eagles (5-1), the G-men have very slim hope to be able to win the division.

Team Grades: Giants’ Miscues Hand Cardinals 25-14 Victory At Meadowlands

The 2014 season is beginning like a repeat of the 2013 campaign for the New York Football Giants. Even with Arizona starting quarterback Carson Palmer sidelined with a bad shoulder, the G-men could not take advantage of backup Drew Stanton seeing his first action since 2010 and handed the Cardinals a 25-14 victory at the Meadowlands.

Palmer, Weatherford Are Questionable For Cardinals – Giants Sunday Contest

The New York Giants head into their home opener relatively healthy, with the exception of punter Steve Weatherford, who suffered torn ligaments in his ankle against Detroit on Monday. For the Arizona Cardinals, starting running back Andre Ellington has not practiced much this week, and quarterback Carson Palmer is questionable with a sore right shoulder.

Detroit Lions Manhandle Giants, Manning 35-14

The New York Giants were doomed for failure in 2013 by starting the season with an 0-6 record. In 2014, there are plenty of new faces in the fold, but Big Blue once again laid an egg on opening day, losing to Detroit 35-14 in a Monday Night Football dud.

Giants Miss Playoffs, Coughlin Likely To Return In 2014

The New York Giants missed the playoffs for the second year in a row, compiling a 7-9 record in 2013. It was only the second losing record under the leadership of Tom Coughlin as Giants head coach, who took command of the team in 2004. As the franchise’s leadership met the media after the final game of the season, one question was seemingly answered, while several other questions remained unanswered.
