NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – New Haven police have made an arrest in the killing of a 31-year-old man on Dorman St. in September 2016.

Tyrone Spears, 42, is charged with murder and weapons offenses in the killing of Levern Bellamy, who was found bleeding in a backyard on Dorman St. on Sept. 21. Bellamy was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the back at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Spears, a former resident of Dorman St., is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, said police.
