Hartford’s Mark Twain House Names New Leader

(CBS Connecticut) — Hartford’s Mark Twain House has selected a new executive director.

Pieter Roos was previously the leader of the Newport Restoration Foundation in Rhode Island.

His first day in Connecticut will be July 5.

Amy Gallent had served as interim executive director since 2016.

In recent months, the Twain house has been working to preserve artifacts threatened by mold due to a leak and a problem with the heating and cooling system in museum center, which is less than 15-years-old.
