VERNON, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Vernon police say a plumbing contractor was taken to Hartford Hospital for a hand injury after he became trapped while working with a piece of machinery Tuesday morning at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Police say the plumber was trying to snake a pipe when the device broke and his hand got caught. Firefighters were able to free the man in about ten minutes, said police.

The injuries are not considered life threatening.
