Bristol Issues Mandatory Outdoor Water Use Restrictions

BRISTOL, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – City water customers caught watering their lawns or washing their cars in Bristol face having their service terminated and having to pay a “reinstatement fee” to have it turned back on. Now that city reservoir levels have dropped below 50 percent capacity, officials have banned all outdoor use of water in Bristol.

The ban does not apply to businesses that need water to operate, such as car washes— and people may still use a hose or watering can to water flowers and gardens.

Water customers had been on an every-other-day restriction for outdoor watering.

Anyone with questions on the restrictions or the City’s water supply is urged to contact the Bristol Water Department at 860-582-7431.
