DANBURY, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Police in Danbury are investigating the weekend shooting death of a woman found in her South Street apartment.
Officers responding to reports of shots fired went to the apartment complex and found the 31-year-old victim at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was identified Monday morning as Sherrie Blount.
No arrests have been announced, but police say there’s no information to believe the public is in danger.
Neighbors tell the Danbury News Times that Blunt lived in the apartment with her husband and four children, and sometimes the children’s grandfather helped out. The victim was described as friendly and kind.
