Teen Charged In Connection With Shooting Outside Restaurant

GROTON, Conn. (AP) – A second juvenile has been arrested in connection with a
shooting at a 99 Restaurant in Groton.
Police said Saturday that they arrested another 17 year old male on Friday.
He’s been charged with first degree robbery and other related charges.
The teen has been transferred to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center and
his name isn’t being released because he’s a minor.
Police say the shooting and apparent robbery wasn’t a random act and that
those involved hadn’t been restaurant patrons or staff. They say more arrests
are expected.
The shooting happened Oct. 2 at around 4 p.m. in the restaurant’s parking lot.
An unnamed 17 year old male suffered a gunshot wound to abdomen. He underwent
emergency surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven but is expected to
recover.
