Even though Hurricane Matthew has not made a direct hit on Florida so far, the storm’s 120 mph winds are still making it a very dangerous weather event.

At 11 a.m. the center of the powerful Category 3 hurricane was about 35 miles east-northeast of Daytona Beach and 95 miles southeast of Jacksonville. A turn toward the north is expected Friday night or Saturday.
