(Wethersfield, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – The state Department of Labor has released employment figures for the month of August.
DOL says the state added a modest 300 jobs to the rolls last month.
In addition, department analysts say the increases for July, 1,700, were sharply revised downward to a loss of 800.
Unemployment ticked down a tenth of a percentage point to 5.6-percent last month.
Education and health services added the most jobs last month. Government, leisure, and hospitality also saw gains.
On the other side, construction and mining lost jobs for the third month running.
Connecticut has now gained back over 96,000 lost to the recession, about 81-percent.
