Child Found Unharmed After Fleeing From School

GRANBY, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – Granby police say a 10-year-old boy reported missing from the Wells Road School was found safe Monday afternoon.

The youth ran from the school into a wooded area around 12:20 p.m., and was found safe around 1:40 p.m.

The incident drew canine units from Bloomfield police, state police, and the Department of Correction and put the school into “shelter mode,” briefly to prevent the dogs from being distracted by children on the playground, said police.
