SPRAGUE, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – State police are investigating a pair of possible abduction attempts in eastern Connecticut.
A white utility van was following a child on River Street in the Baltic section of Sprague Thursday afternoon, and the driver tried to coerce the child inside, the youth reported to troopers. When the child sought refuge in at a nearby home, the van fled.
A similar incident was reported about a half hour later in the Wauregan section of Plainfield.
In the Baltic incident, the child described the driver of the van as a white male, in his late 40s, wearing a gray tattered shirt, black shoes, with a tattoo on his left forearm.
