(WATERBURY,Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A telecommunicator is has been placed on administrative leave while Waterbury Police conduct an internal investigation of her handling of the 911 call reporting a fatal shooting.Nicole Scarino, police say , is a complaint clerk, not a 911 dispatcher.
59 year old Helena Vargas was shot while delivering food from a Chinese restaurant. A man was assaulted and injured. He was the one who made the call and it appears Scarino had difficulty understanding as he tried to communicate information in English.
