STORRS, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – It was last fall that Amazon Prime orders jammed mail rooms at the University of Connecticut. Things should be better this year, as the online retail giant has opened at new storefront pickup location in nearby Storrs Center.
Customers can opt to have their orders sent directly to the store for pickup– often the next day. Then, when customers head to the store, they receive a bar code on their smartphone, scan it at the store, and a box opens containing the order.
The 4,000-square-foot store is one of 12 the retailer has opened so far, with plans for another six by year’s end.
