Man Drowns In North Stonington Lake

(North Stonington, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – State EnCon police are investigating after a man apparently drowned Monday evening in a lake in North Stonington.

They say the 30-year-old victim was pronounced dead just after 8 p.m. after being pulled from Billings Lake.

He was rushed to Backus Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Right now, authorities aren’t releasing the name of the victim.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says Billings Lake is not one of the 23 designated state park swim areas.
