NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Artists are descending on New Haven this weekend to draw on the sidewalks in front of Yale University.
The first-ever New Haven Chalk Art Festival on Saturday will feature both professional and amateur artists who will be competing for the best chalk art with prizes from local merchants.
Drawing will be done on the sidewalks of Broadway Island.
Contestants will be divided into teen, adult and group categories.
There will also be a Kids Freestyle Zone, with a free box of sidewalk chalk to the first 50 children who show up to draw.
