(BRISTOL,Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A man Bristol Police attempted to stop in the area of Barber and Hawthorne Streets late Wednesday morning ,believing he had an outstanding arrest warrant gave an officer a false name and began to run away.
Two officers pursued the man, 32 year old Stephen Michaud on foot and were able to detain him briefly.But Michaud resisted arrest and ran again, jumping over a retaining wall on Pine Street.In the end the officers did take Michaud into custody.
Michaud had an outstanding arrest warrant from Bristol charging him with Illegal Possession of Narcotics,Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Forgery, three counts of Interfering with a Police Officer and two counts of Criminal Impersonation.Bond was set at $75,000.
An additional arrest warrant in New Britain for Failure to Appear was also found.Bond for that arrest was set at $50,000.
Michaud is due in Bristol Superior Court Thursday.
