(HARTFORD,Conn./CBS Connecticut)  – St. Augustine School in Hartford and St. Brigid School in  West Hartford will become one  beginning with the 2016-2017  academic year. The idea for the partnership   came after St.Augustine learned the cost of  necessary upgrades  to its building would be in excess of 8 million dollars.

The pastors  consulted with  the trustees and finance councils of both parishes  and  the school board  of St. Brigid  and worked in collaboration with the school administration and Office of Catholic  Schools staff  to discuss ways to pool  their resources.

A Partnership Day is planned for  March 18. St Augustine students will spend the  day at St.Brigid  and will tour the building, take part in school activities , socialize and  have lunch with their future classmates.
