Clinton Comes To Town To Support Malloy
(CBS Connecticut) — Former President Bill Clinton called on Connecticut Democrats to help turn out the vote to win a second term for Governor Dannel Malloy. At a rally fundraiser at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, Clinton spoke to several hundred Malloy supporters and asked for their help to re-elect Malloy. At the rally, Governor Malloy said he is proud of a gun safety bill he signed into law.
The governor’s margin of victory in last year’s election over Republican Tom Foley was 6,4000 votes. Clinton said if the 6,000 voters who made the difference in the last gubernatorial election had failed to cast ballots, things would have been different.
Several Democrats in the audience said they feel confident that Malloy will win, despite polls showing the race too close to call.
