(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) - Access Health CT says the state rate of those without medical insured has fallen by 50-percent.

The state’s health care exchange is reporting that based on figures from the Kaiser Family Foundation in 2012, Connecticut’s rate of uninsured was 7.9-percent.

Access Health CT says that figure now stands at four-percent.

The figures also indicate the exchange has signed up over 256,000 residents through the exchange, 53-percent of whom were uninsured at the time of enrollment.
