Former Newington Official Arrested

Newington, Conn./CBS Connecticut- The former Director of Facilities Management in Newington has been arrested.

Newington police have charged 60 year old Robert Korpak of Newington with Larceny, Receiving Kickbacks and Criminal Attempt to Commit Larceny.

Police say that during his tenure as Facilities Manager, Korpak stole materials purchased by the town and tried to solicit a kickback from a town contractor.

He is free on bond and has a court date next month.
