Serious Assault, Robbery In Bristol

BRISTOL, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ A 22-year-old Bristol man is under arrest for a severe beating and robbery outside a liquor store on Park Street Tuesday night.

Bristol police say they found a 50-year-old victim outside K & S Liquors, 191 Park St., around 8:06 p.m., bleeding form the head and suffering from facial wounds following an assault and robbery.

A short time later, Bristol police were investigating an unrelated matter and recognized one of the suspect’s from a description given by the victim. Taken into police custody was Kevin Whittingham, of 191 Laurel St., Apt. B1.

He’s charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, third-degree assault as well as conspiracy. Held on $50,000 bond.

The victim, not identified, was taken to Bristol Hospital and then transported to St. Francis Hospital in Hartford with broken facial bones and other injuries.
