Hartford Police Make Gun Arrests
HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ Hartford police announced a number of gun arrests over the weekend.
First, a city man is facing a list of charges following two overnight incidents Saturday into Sunday involving gunfire.
Police say Jermal McCall, 25, confessed to firing a sawed-off shotgun on Albany Avenue at Oakland Terrace as a result of a fight at the Kabbalah House on Albany Avenue.
McCall also admitted to firing shots on Garden Street. A 23-year-old Hartford woman suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the torso.
McCall’s bond was set at $750,000.
In a separate arrest, 36-year-old Deshawn Jennings, of Hartford, is charged with a number of offenses for a March 8, 2013 shooting during an attempted robbery on Sisson Avenue.
The shooting victim survived, but suffered life-changing injuries. Bond is set at $750,000 and additional arrests are expected.
A third arrest involved a 19-year-old Hartford man who was apprehended by officers July 11 for taking part in illegal activity on Main Street.
Deshawn Walton is charged with a number of offenses and is held on $50,000 bond.
