Report Due on Connecticut Greenhouse Gas Emissions

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A new report outlining Connecticut’s progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions is being released.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has scheduled a news conference on Friday to unveil the report drafted by the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The report stems from a 2008 law that set goals for the reduction of emissions.

Under the law, total emissions in Connecticut must be reduced at least 10 percent below 1990 levels by 2020.

Malloy is expected to be joined Friday by DEEP Commissioner Rod Klee and other state officials at Crest Mechanical Services in Hartford. The company has been using a state renewable energy program to make energy efficiency upgrades at its facilities.
