Man Tries To Pry Open Register At Bristol Supermarket

A man shoved a cashier, and tried to pry open a cash register at a Stop & Shop on Route 6 in Bristol about 11:30 pm.

The man used a screw driver in an attempt to pry open the register.

Bristol Police say a customer tried to hold the man until officers arrived, but he escaped and ran towards Jerome Avenue.  He was described as a light-skinned black man, 5′ 8 ” tall, wearing a green sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Nothing was taken, and everyone is okay.
