(New Haven, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Police in New Haven are investigating after they say an eight-year-old girl was struck by a car that then fled the scene this morning.
Police were dispatched to the scene at Ferry and Pine Streets around 7:30.
The girl was transported to the Yale-New Haven Hospital pediatric emergency room for treatment of what are reported to be non life-threatening injuiries.
The victim is in stable condition.
Police say they are looking for a white van with double rear doors and windows.
Investigators are interviewing a school bus driver who witnessed the incident
The vehicle may have passenger side and headlamp damage.
