Metro North Suspends Service Due To New York Explosion

NEW YORK (AP)/CBS Connecticut – The Fire Department says there’s a major emergency response in East Harlem.

The FDNY says it has received a report of a possible explosion and building collapse around Park Avenue between 114th and 117th streets.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

WABC (http://bit.ly/1ki9qQP ) says residents reported hearing a large explosion in an apartment building around 9 a.m. Wednesday.

It says fire was reported in the building and residents were seeing smoke in the area.

The activity in the area has forced the Metro North rail line to suspend service into and out of Grand Central Terminal until further notice.
