Teacher Charged For Inappropriate Incident Involving Student

GREENWICH, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ A Danbury man who teaches at an all-girls Catholic school in Greenwich has been arrested for inappropriate contact with a student.

Michael Maida, 44, of Danbury, turned himself in to Greenwich police Tuesday, charged with second-degree sex assault and risk of injury to a minor for an alleged incident at the Convent of the Sacred Heart school where he had inappropriate contact with a student under the age of 16.

The school includes grades K-12. Maida has reportedly taught there for 17 years and the alleged incident happened in 2009. The school says they found out about it in January when the investigation began.
