Vasquez fled at a high rate of sped and ignored a traffic stop and got onto Route 9.Police say Vasquez exited the highway at and got onto Cedar Street in
Newington,leading New Britain patrol officers through several streets in Newington , before doubling back into New Britain.Vasquez was stopped at Overlook and Farmington Avenues and taken into custody after a brief struggle.
The victim was found unharmed in the back seat of Vasquez’ vehicle. Vasquez is the father of her child.
Vasquez is a convicted felon with two outstanding arrest warrants.He has been charged with Kidnapping in the Second Degree,Engaging Police in Pursuit , Interfering with Police and Reckless Driving.Bond was set at $350,000. Vasquez struck at least one vehicle in Newington and police there are investigating.
