Forecast Delays Start Of Legislature, Governor’s State Of The State Address

Legislative leaders and the governor’s office are delaying the start of the legislature for a day, due to the weather forecast.  Instead of noon on Wednesday,  the legislature will start at noon on Thursday, with Governor Malloy delivering his State of the State message at that time.

The governor said he hopes the storm is not as bad as predicted,  but he asked for the postponement to be safe. Senate President Donald Williams and House Speaker Brendan Sharkey said they agreed that it makes sense to take safety of legislators, staff and visitors into account.
