Middletown Police Catch Burglar In Act

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ Middletown Police have made an arrest in a copper wiring theft.

This morning they arrested Roman Skrzypecki, 38, of 12 Darling St., Southington, after police caught him in the act.

He’s charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny, possession of burglary tools and third-degree criminal mischief.

It happened at Electrical Wholesalers at 705 Middle St. Police say they had past reports of multiple early Saturday morning break-ins at that address and they set up surveillance this morning to see if it’d happen again. It did, around 6:30 a.m., and Skrzypecki was promptly arrested.

It’s not clear if he was connected to past incidents and more charges against him could be coming. He has a pending court case stemming from an arrest by Farmington police for a similar crime.
