Connecticut Team Offers A-Rod A Contract

HARTFORD (CT Connecticut) — It appears suspended New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has a job offer.  A-Rod was banned for the 2014 season for his involvement in the BioGenesis scandal involving performance-enhancing drugs.

Now, a Connecticut is stepping up to the plate, as it were.  The Torrington Titans of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League are offering A-Rod a $5,000 contract as an assistant coach —  plus all the coffee and doughnuts he wants (in partnership with a local doughnut shop. )

Titans’ General Manager Joey Abis says the offer isn’t entirely a gag.  He asks what better way for Rodriguez to repair his tarnished image than to work with young,  up-and-coming ballplayers.

No word on whether Rodriguez will accept the deal.
