Police Learn Name Of Suspect In Banana Burglary

Newington Police have identified a suspect in a burglary in which a man used a station wagon to smash into a gas station, then stole only a banana.

The man has not yet been arrested, and his name was not released.

Sergeant Christopher Perry says the damage to the Citgo on Route 175 was estimated at $10,000.

“They put plywood up over the entrance door, and they were open the day of the incident, since it happened early in the morning,” Perry said.

Police say another agency helped identify the man.
