Former UConn Lacrosse Goalie Killed In Crash

WILLINGTON, Conn. (AP) _ Authorities say a former UConn women’s lacrosse player was killed in a rollover crash near campus in Willington.

NBC Connecticut reports that 24-year-old Brittney Testa was killed when she lost control of her 2004 Jeep Cherokee and went off the northbound shoulder of River Road about 9 a.m. Friday.

Police documents show that Testa was not wearing a seatbelt. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Testa, of Bridgewater, Vt., was the starting goalie for UConn’s women’s lacrosse team in 2011 and 2012. She also played as a senior in 2013.

UConn athletics spokesman Mike Enright says Testa was finishing her degree.
