Two Drivers With Children In Vehicles Charged With Drunk Driving

Vernon police arrested two drunk drivers over the weekend, both of whom were driving with young children in the car.  Police say 41-year-old Robert Apted of Vernon was driving an unregistered vehicle in an erratic fashion when he was stopped Saturday evening.  He failed a field sobriety test.  An infant in the car at the time was placed with a family member.

And less than a day earlier,  police responding to a call from a concerned citizen, stopped a Bronx, New York driver also driving erratically.  A four-year-old and a five-year-old child in the vehicle were placed with a family mbmer after 26-year-old Kwadwo Kwake did not have a driver’s license and failed a field sobriety test
