The former director of the Fairfield Housing Authority has been sentenced to five years probation, the first six months in home confinement, after pleading guilty to embezzling from the Authority.
Acting U.S. Attorney Deirdre Daly says 47-year-old Elizabeth Gutierrez of Ridgefield also must pay restitution of the $30,000 embezzled.
Prosecutors say between July of 2010 and December of 2011, Gutierrez issued two checks from the Housing Authority’s account, and then deposited the money in her own account.
