Hartford Police Make Arrest In Spring Shooting

Hartford police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting that occurred last spring.

They say it was in the wee hours of April 27 that a car was shot at on Sisson Avenue.

Investigators identified two suspects as 28-year-old Jorge “G” Oquendo and 37-year-old Luis “Ping Ping” Diaz.

Police say the driver of the car that was fired upon had been tailed from Interstate 84 and that the victim had had a long-standing disagreement with the suspects.

Investigators say both men have long criminal histories.

Oquendo was arrested for an attempted murder in 2003 and a 2010 firearms case.  He was on probation at the time of the shooting.

Diaz was tied to a 1999 homicide and is currently behind bars on an unrelated charge.

Both are facing attempted assault, conspiracy, and gun charges.
