About a hundred students rallied making the point that something needs to change in Storrs when it comes to sexual assault.
Among those in attendance were three of the seven women who filed a Title IX complaint with the US Department of Education against the school last week.
Those three did not speak, wearing red tape covering their mouths during the rally. Also in attendance was a leader of the Title IX Coalition on campus, UConn’s Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, UConn’s Title IX Coordinator and Mansfield’s State Representative.
Those who did speak said the goal is not to chastise just UConn or put the blame on any one administrator, but to create a more pro-active environment when dealing with sexual assault.
