Murder Suspect Captured In Waterbury

Police in Waterbury now say they have a suspect in custody in connection with a fatal stabbing on a city street Monday evening.

Thirty-nine-year-old Philip Grundy was located this afternoon on Draher Street, they said.

Grundy had been wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Brendan Feliciano and the wounding of 23-year-old Jeffrey Gomez.

Grundy is charged with first-degree murder and assault.

He’s being held on $1,000,000 and is due in court Wednesday.

Police say the stabbing was the result of a fight between Grundy’s girlfriend and the girlfriend of one of the victims.
