Police Seek Armed Suspect In Drugstore Robbery

East Hartford police are looking for the suspect in a recent armed robbery that involved prescription drugs.  Police say the incident took place last Friday at the CVS store on Main Street.

Police say a man approached the pharmacy counter asking for the oxycodone and oxycontin on hand.  He then allegedly displayed a handgun tucked into the waist of his pants.

Police would also like to talk to a woman who was in the store at the time, talking with a cashier.  They want to know if she has any information to help in their investigation.  Police released security camera images of both the suspect and the woman. (See security camera images)

The suspect is described as a 40-50-year-old white male between five-foot-eight and five-foot-ten,  wearing a dark shirt, jeans and a baseball cap.

The woman is white, 35, five-foot-five,  with dark framed glasses and curly hair.

An older model black four-door vehicle was seen driving, without headlights,  over the curb and grass,  northbound on the suspect in front of the CVS.

No injuries were reported in the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call East Hartford police,  Detective Daniel Ortiz (860) 291-7669 or, by e-mail at dortiz@easthartfordct.gov .
